Inside View: The forced air
blower is mounted at the
rear of the furnace; this is
safer than on the door. The
air is blown up through the
wood for a quick and even
heat on demand.
NO WASTED HEAT EITHER!
The
firebox is TOTALLY
surrounded with water, as is
the flue, the ash pan and
the front and back of the
furnace. This ay you capture
all of the heat. No heat
escapes to the outside
without passing through
water first The
chimney traps heat in the
firebox, coming halfway to
the firebox floor, so heat
doesn't rush out of the
chimney. You get the maximum
amount of heat. This also
allows for the gases to burn
off before escaping up the
flue.
The
water capacity - Shaver 165
has a huge 170 gallon tank
unlike others with 90 gallon
tanks. The water tank
is made of 1/8" tick metal
(11gauge) - 2 times thicker
than many others using only
16 gauge. The tank houses a
domestic hot water coil, as
well.
